She has a BA in sociology, graduated at the prestigious “European Film College” in Denmark and holds M.A. degree in communication.
She is an expert in communication and cultural policies. She has substantial experience in the civil sector and in the media, working on large projects on anti-discrimination, multimedia platforms for children etc. Georgieva has years of managerial and creative experience in the domain of culture, film, writing, organizing festivals and public events.
She has worked for more than six years for the most famous Macedonian children TV show and educational platform “Five plus” as a project manager, content developer, supervisor and scriptwriter.
Georgieva was also editor in chief in the popular satirical TV news show “Yesterday’s news” (Fcerasni Novosti) and from 2018 to 2020 she was Head of MEDIA Desk MK representing the Creative Europe MEDIA programme in North Macedonia.
Throughout her career Georgieva worked as assistant director on number of films series and commercials and she has initiated the program “Kino Budenje” with the aim to raise the level of cultural awareness, and in support of high quality films.
Last but not least, Bistra is passionate about writing for children, which brought her a huge success worldwide. Her picture book “The Giant imagination store” – collaboration with the renowned Spanish illustrator Monica Carretero, was published in Spanish and Catalan language in Spain, Latin America and USA. She is the author of ten educational picture books from the brand “Stella and Sani” and the first picture book in Macedonia written together with 34 children as co-authors “Hotel Popitop”.
She has received several awards given by the Macedonian Association of Publishers:
First Place for Best Books for Children and Young Adults for “The Giant Fantasy Shop” -2019
Third place for Best Children’s Book for “The Mysterious Island” 2022
First place for the best children’s book and third place for the most creative publication for
“The Seven Somers and the Seven Macedonian Composers” 2023
From 2023, she becomes a member of the council of the European Film College in Denmark
